The Hilliard Bradley girls basketball team has more than held its own inside the Ohio Capital Conference Capital Division this winter.
The Lady Jaguars (8-6, 5-4) are in the middle of the pack and three games out of first with five games to play.
They'll get a chance to see a pair of teams from opposite ends of the standings this week. They were scheduled to play at last-place Franklin Heights (0-14, 0-9) Tuesday, Jan. 26 (7:30 p.m.) and will then travel to co-leader Big Walnut (11-4, 8-1) Friday, Jan. 29 (7:30 p.m.).
Bradley split the pair of games it played last week. It was on the losing end of a 54-36 decision against league's other co-leader New Albany (12-3, 8-1) Friday, Jan. 22.
But it bounced back in a big way a night later, taking down host Fairbanks 67-35.
In the win, the Lady Jaguars' defense limited the Panthers' to single-digit scoring for three of the four quarters and got a 40-point offensive explosion in the second half to turn it into a rout.
Bradley was by Bailey Pierron with 18 points. Kellie Roudabush also reached double figures (14), while Brooke Epenschied added 12 and Ellen Conti chipped in nine.
The Jags connected on 27 baskets compared to just 12 for Fairbanks.
