The defending Division I state champion Northland High School boys basketball team earned the top seed for the district tournament at the drawing last Sunday. It will open the postseason with a second-round game on Feb. 26 against the winner of Marysville and Groveport.
The area's other undefeated Division I teams, Gahanna, Westerville South and Upper Arlington, received the next three seeds.
The Lions headline the middle bracket and open against Franklin Heights on Feb. 24. South plays its first tournament game Feb. 24 against Columbus West and is in the upper bracket along with the Bears and fifth-seeded Dublin Coffman.
Westerville North, Mount Vernon, Marion-Franklin, Westerville Central, Olentangy Orange, Brookhaven and Pickerington North round out the top 12.
DeSales earned the top seed for the Division II district tournament, followed by Watterson, Bexley, Canal Winchester, Hartley, Big Walnut, Eastmoor Academy and Buckeye Valley. The Stallions open the postseason Feb. 26 against the winner of Sparta Highland and Caledonia River Valley.
